Fame

Since this movie came out, I had wanted to watched it, but I didn't have a chance until yesterday.
I am not a big fan of musical, but the trailer seemed very interesting to me.
It seemed there were a lot of dramas in the movie.
The kids are seriously impressive and talented.
And they have their own stories.
However, I felt the soties are kind of weak.
Each of them is very gifted person, as I said, yet nothing moved me just because this movie totally rely on their ability, I guess.
To be honest, the stories are normal life of the students who are talented and have hopes in the future, which might be what they intended to show us.
Their struggles are quite different from what we do, I think.
Maybe some of them have "closer" sense to us, yet they know they are not "ordinally" people.
If you like to watch musical or amazing perfomance you can watch in Step Up, you might like it, but I am not sure if it worth of watching only for that.
Anyway, I was kind of disappointed with this movie probably because I expected too much from the trailer.
It might be one of the typical exapmles that trailers are better than movies themselves lol

Hard Candy

It's been a while since I posted last one.

It doesn't mean I haven't watched any movies.

I was just a bit busy.

I am so sorry about that.

Anyway, about the movie!

As usuall, I had no idea what Hard Candy is about lol

I watched Whip It and was kind of curious what kind of movies Ellen Page has been.

I have watched Juno, Inception, and Whip It; however, all movies are tottally different.

Besides, she is from Canada, where I live now lol

So, I was curious about her carrer.

Hard Candy is filmed in 2005, so she was 18.

But she acts 14-year-old girl, which I had no doubt about it.

She looks really young in that movie lol

The girl she acts is totally wired though.

Since I did not know about anything about this movie, I thought this movie was about kidnapping.

The movie starts with chatting screen on computer between a young girl and a well-grwon up man.

But hell no! It was not about kidnapping!!

Well, kind of yes, but it is not what I expected at all.

The girl must have a reason for her actions, yet it is quite mysteryous.

Though I finished watching it, I am still confused.

What is this movie about...?

Who is she...?

I loved the camera work of this movie.

I don't think they spent a lot of money to make this film, yet the movies is quite exciting to watch without any special effect because of camera work.

Also Page did great job in the movie.

She is real phyco in this movie!

I strongly recommend to watch it if you don't mind having many questions afterwards lol

I bet it is pain to watch for guys though lol

The Town

I did not know Ben Affleck was the director.

All I knew before I watched this movie is that this movie is about bank job.

Well, I thought of knew Ben Affleck was the main main character, but I wasn't even sure lol

So, I had no idea what this movie was about.

I kind of expected action movies, but this movie did not meet may expectation at all, which is good.

There are some car actions, which can be seen as actions, but there are a lot of emotional descriptions.

I was very impressed how well the atmosphere was created.

Especially, camera movements and flaming have important roles.

Hand-held camera movement crates the intense situation and represents nervousness of the characters.

Long shot and close up are obviously used to express the characters' emotions, which also shows us physiological process of them, I think.

When we see the close-up of the characters' faces, it tells us what they are thinking though they do not say what they are thinking really.

I really loved the mood of this movie!!

It was amazingly realistic!

The atmosphere of each scene tells us more about the relationships of the characters and their thoughts.

I can watch this movie over and over again because this is so well done!

Inception was the best one I'd watched this year, but I like The Town better than Inception!

If you haven't watched this movie, I strongly recommend to watch it!

This movie have be on your list of must-watch!

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Well, my impression of after watching this movies was " This is it?" lol
The ending kind of makes sense, but it's not really the all audience expected, I think.
It is quite short movie. Its got only 90 minuets, but there are many slow-motions, which means that the amount of time that actually relates to the story is shorter than 90 minuets.
I am sure that I am not the only one who felt that the story itself is extremely brief.
As I said, short amount of time, and lots of slow-motion made me feel even "nothing".
Of course, there are still many things happening, which makes some excitement.
But to be honest, I think Kick Ass was way more exciting lol
And 3D did not work well.
It was very strange to see actions in 3D.
It might have added some sort of excitement such as splashing blood in front of your eyes; however, I personally think 3D is not completed yet.
I don't think it's worth of watching it with 3D next couple years because no one has really figured out the advantage of 3D yet.
Resident Evil is even worse than Avatar(I think Avatar sucks! There is nothing new. Everything in the movie is predictable.) because it does not have any stories that follows previous series.
Resident Evil is getting worse and worse as they make next one.
I seriously think they should have stopped making it after they made second one lol
Anyway, I do not recommend you to watch this movie in the theatre.
You can watch it once they are on DVD.
Don't waste your money and time like I did today lol

The Last Seven

It was one of the movies that you do not know what is going on until you see the end.
Well, you get some hints to guess what is going on, of course.
But I did not understand whole thing till I finished watching lol
The characters in the movie don't know what is going on; you share the feeling with them in some sense.
Long take, long shots, and music increase the sense of sharing, I think.
You feel you participate the events that take place on the screen; however, you also witness what is going on on the screen.
It sounds a bit confusing, isn't it? lol

That's how tricky the editing is in the movie.
I mean you share the feeling with the characters, but you don't share visually with them, so you can guess what is going on next better than them.
You share the memories of them since you see the flashbacks, which I felt kind of classic way to use flashbacks.
I felt I was watching something really spiritual movie, but it was in some sense very realistic.
Well, it's still spiritual, but everything is very confusing and quite ambiguous in terms of "real".
I know you have no idea what the hell I am talking about if you haven't watch this movie, yet it kind of makes scene if you have, I believe.

Repo Man

One of my friends recomended this movie.

I had no idea what this movie was about when I started watching.

Then I figured out this movies is messed up lol

Well, in a good scene, of course.

I liked how the music is used in the movie.

Music sounds always opposited to what I see, which gave an impression that what is going on in the movie is unreal.

It is unreal, of course, but it has influence that everything taked place in the movie is wrong too.

Since the world in the movie and the world we live in is different, but there is a possibility that the future can be like movie because I think artiicial organ would be very demanding in the future.

Anyway, I enjoyed movie a lot.

I enjoyed some comic scenes.

They remind me Old Boy, which is one of my favorite movies.

I bet you enjoy this movie if you don't mind watching a bit of blood splashing lol

The Expendables

This is typical Stallone movie, I would say.

This movie contains lots of actions, explosions, and fighting.

And of course, massive number of killing lol

That is why I say this is typical Stallone moive.

I bet he puts everything he thinks cool, which I think is one important element of Hollywood movie today.

But I feel Stallone has learned quite a lot about movie.

I felt that the editing and music increased the excitement of the movie, so I liked this movie most in his movies.

Besides, big action stars are in this movie, which means more actions!

But I think it would have been better if there are side stories of each characters since they are big names.

I was kind of disappointed how Jet Li is treated.

I still enjoyed his amazing kung-fu skills!

If you love the dynamic action movie, I guarantee you like this movie!

But as I said, there are lots of killing.

So, don't watch it with your girlfriend lol

Go to watch with your buddies!

It would be fun!
