I have to say it was really crappy movie though lol

I think it's supposed to be a monster movie like Jaws, but it failed so bad lol

Acting is really bad, which made me laugh several times.

CG is horrible, you can easily tell when they use CG lol

The story is very predictable and has no twist.

I don't even know why they did not make a little bit more effort to make this movie better...

Is it because it's for TV?

Well, there are a lot of hot girls in bikinis at least lol

But there is no nudity, which is a little disappointing... lol

Anyway, you might enjoy this movie if you like cheap crappy movies.

Otherwise, don't waste your precious time for this lol

BTW, I was very surprised that my friend bought Blue-ray version of this.

I have never heard of this movie until one of my friends mentioned it.

After I watched it, I was very glad that she told me about it.

I don't really think this is a well-known movie, but I don't know why because this movie is excellent.

This is the movie about the guy who had ordinary life, but his life changes after he moves to where his family is from.

He discovers secret history of his family and is forced to face it.

Everyone in this movie has secret history and struggle getting over.

It is really amazing to how well their suffers are described.

I also liked the landscape of it.

You know how mother nature is against us, but it is all around us.

We have to get along with it no matter how hard it is.

The image of nature in this movie matches their woes.

They have to accept the fact and live with it.

I was very impressed how well-constructed it it!

This is based on the book, so I assume this book is also good, so it might be a good reading for winter if you like to read!

Since it's Halloween today, I should talk about the horror movie, shouldn't I?

And this horror movie is really good!

I really liked the worldview of it.

You might think it's unrealistic, but everything makes sense in this movie. (Who expects horror movies to be realistic anyways?!)

Also, how the story goes is very interesting.

I was like "what the hell is going on?!" for first 30 minutes lol

I totally couldn't guess how this movie ends.

It was a quite unusual experience because horror movies are usually very straightforward.

You can usually foresee what will happen next.

I believe this story developing makes this movie scary!

Of course, the atmosphere of the movie is created well!

I think this is a great movie for Halloween.

So, watch this if you are having a horror movie night tonight and have not decided what you should watch!

I have no idea what to say...

I knew it would be really depressing movie even before I watched it, but it is a sad story.

This is a story about a girl who is abandoned by her mother and tries to find her own happiness.

However, she faces any kinds of difficulties...

It is totally opposite to typical Hollywood success stories.

I'm not saying that Hollywood movies are unrealistic, but this movie tells how unfair the life is no matter how you behave.

There are unfortunate things in the world, and some people have to take it.

I think that Oksana Akinshina does good job acting how the girl tries to makes things better around her without any certain knowledge.

She does not lose her hope although she faces difficulties or nothing turn out as she imagines.

I think you would not want to watch it if you don't like sad stories though.

2001: A Space Odyssey

This is one of my favorite movie!

This is very interesting movie at the same time this can be the most irritating movie ever lol

I like it because it have extremely enigmatic ending.

I cannot really understand what it supposed to mean though I have seen this movie so many times!

For same reason, this can be irritating if you don't like ambiguous stories.

But I would say there are many features that attracts you too.

First of all, the use of the sound is amazing!

There are not much conversations in this movie.

This is one of the quietest movie I have ever seen, so this isn't the best movie to watch when you feel tired or sleepy lol

But the music creates a lot of effect, so you sort of understand how you are supposed to feel about what you see on the screen even though you do not hear a word, which is very impressive.

And second, it is interesting that you understand what it supposed to mean without any lines.

How it is visualized is quite splendid.

As I said, there are not many conversations, so you basically see the objects on the screen, but you understand what is going on.

Especially, first part of the movie has no conversation, but you understand what is going on so clearly.

It has very unique world view, and you probably don't understand much, but you are forced to be part of the world because you witness everything and try to solve the enigma the characters face.

I really think this is a great movie, so you should watch it when you have a chance.

You might feel it is long, but it is worth it!

X-Men First Class

I have watched all series so far, but I don't think I can call myself as a big fun of X-men series.

In fact, I watched it after the DVD came out lol

However, I have to admit the fact that I enjoy watching them.

I liked this one particularly because this reveals backgrounds of other stories.

I was expecting to watch action scenes with descent story as X-men movies usually do, but I was very impressed by the well organized story.

The backgrounds makes the other stories interesting because you are now able to see these stories from different perspectives.

You can also see the beginning of the relationship between characters, which gives you more insights of the characters you already knew.

What I liked the most about this movie is that historical facts are used very well in the story.

Since there are some historical facts we all know are involved, it is more realistic and we can see emotional conflicts the characters have.

Of course, the acting and action scenes are very enjoyable to watch as well.

It might be a little difficult for kids to understand what is going on fully since there are some complicated relations and history.

But I do recommend to watch this movie even though you are getting sick of X-men series.

I bet you want to other X-men movies after you watch this lol

Yes, I love this movie!!

I believe this is one of the most famous movie diferected by Alfred Hitchcock.

The reason why I like this movie is that this movie shows how scared people are.

You see people are really scared of birds which start attacking people without any understandable reasons.

Then you start being scared of birds too.

I remember I could not look at birds after watching this movie when I was a kid lol

Because birds are everywhere and you see them very often, you think you know them well.

However, this movie tells how little we know about them and how easy we get panic if something unexpected happens.

I guarantee you that you don't regret, so watch it if you haven't seen this!

This movie reminds me of American Pie lol

I don't lie that I understand the feeling why teenage kids try to lose their virginity lol

Well, I guess everyone has gone through this, right??

This kid might be a little too desperate, but you understand him more or less.

That is why it is so funny to watch this kind of movie, don't you think?

This might remind you of your youth because the kids in this movie seems normal teenagers.

Well, they might be a little weird, yet I bet you knew stupid kids like them.

So, this is nostalgic in a sense because you laugh at yourself as you laugh at them if you understand their feeling.

Well, I don't really know what to say about this movie, to be honest lol

There is very strange relationship between a man and a woman.

Both have their own problems, and they try to fill their emptiness with physical intimacy, sex.

I don't really think I understand a bit of their emotional conflicts they struggle.

It was very wired to watch this extremely odd relationship because there seems to be no solution.

What they do actually cause more problems from my perception.

Well, I might not have enough life experience to understand any of it lol

Though I was not very impressed by the story, I liked the acting.

Their facial expressions are very good.

And the atmosphere is well created.

By the way, there are a lot of sex scenes and I heard that the actors make love for real.

It is probably true.

So, I was wondering if you can call it porn.

It is obvious that the focus of this movie is not sex, but they are making love very often in the movie.

I have a feeling that someone calls it porn and does not understand the story much, which I kind of understand because sex has a very important roll in their relationship, and that's this movie is about.

I personally think this isn't porn, but you can probably ague that too.

This is another war movie.

I believe this is based on what actually happened during Vietnam War.

Knowing that, watching this movie is a bit painful.

I think this is a good movie because it tells us what it would be like being in the field, yet it is not a pleasant movie to watch.

Something abnormal takes place normally during the war, which implies that war turns normal people into abnormal.

It was kind of scary to watch because this aspect of the was can be seen very clearly in this movie.

I don't really know how precisely this movie describes the war since I myself have not experienced the war, yet I think that fragile humanity is described very well.

It also says how important it is to have a faith.

I was glad that there is still a good aspect of human in this movie lol

This is not what I expected at all!

I knew that aliens are somehow involved, so I thought this would be alien movie like any other.

But the aliens rarely shows up on the screen.

Of course, this story is about the aliens, but this movie does not focus on alien.

Its focus is more on human, which I really liked.

Since this does not focus on aliens, it allows us to see what humans are.

I know you might know about humans well enough, but everyone is different, right?

People have their own stories.

I really liked how the setting of the characters influences on the story.

Also the acting is amazing!

They did really good job!

They show the struggles they have in their life, which is very realistic.

This might be categorized under panic movie or alien movie as I thought before watching it, but I would say this is more like drama in different setting.

I also liked that they are making film in the film because this made me think Steven Spielberg might have been like one of the kids.

I really liked this movie though I don't usually like alien movie or SF movie.

The story is very simple, but there are a lot of twists.

One of the most interesting feature of this film is the characters.

There are a few characters only, but they have very unique personalities.

They do have sort of scary aspects, yet they are like little children who see things from different angles without any stereotypes.

And the story is very enjoyable, which surprised me.

The initial thought I started watching this movie is that this is one of the cheap movies.

Yes, this is one of the cheap movies, but it does not have typical story.

It isn't scary, so you might be disappointed if you expect to be scared, but I think this is worth watching this movie!

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

This is the war movie, yet it is not as violent as typical war movies I have seen.

This movie focuses on the friendship between the boy whose father is the soldier of Nazi and Jewish boy who is in the camp.

Since this movie approaches the war from different angle, it gives us different impression of the war, which I believe is very important because this approach asks us a moral question.

I was very impressed by how it structures their difference.

What is the difference between Jews and the others?

What makes Jews evil?

We wonder as Bruno wonders.

However, framing and camera angles do create difference between them.

We see two boys the way adults see and the way Bruno sees.

These two different ways of seeing things explains things we do not see visually, which is emotions.

I also liked the acting.

Two boys did really good job.

There is tension between them, which seems very natural and explains their positions.

I do recommend to see this movie.

This movie can be a moral lesson of the war.

I had not seen this movie for a long time!

God, this movie is great!

This is the movie about four kids going to explore to be heroes.

I know it's very brief, but I guess it's good enough to tell you that there are some dramas between them lol

And you can instantly guess that they grow up through this exploration trip.

What I liked about this movie is that four kids have their own problems already.

They face their problems in their ways and suffers.

They do not live like adults think.

But they try to enjoy their youth time at the same time.

These complex emotions are described very well since the acting is good.

Although they are very young, their acting is very impressive.

This is filmed 25 years ago, yet this movie is still worth watching it.

It might give you nostalgic emotion.

I really liked this movie.

This movie is supposed to be a documentary film, yet there is a discussion going on whether this is a real documentary or not because this movie is so well made!

I do not care whether this is a real documentary or not; I enjoyed this movie, which is the most important thing to me lol

This movie has a story, which is quite realistic in a sense.

I suppose people wonder whether this is a real story or not because people know that this can happen around them.

I really liked that this movie points out how involved we are in the Internet.

The Internet is necessary for us today to communicate each other.

This movie criticizes its credibility, so I think the form of documentary fits extremely well in this case though it causes the discussion as I mentioned.

An American Crime

This move might be the one that made me feel worst after watching it.

What makes me feel that bad is the fact that this movie is based on the true story.

There are a lot of movies like that, but this movie is a bit different because this movie does not give us any hopes in the end.

You see how people get involved in the crime.

Those people are all children; you don't feel like blaming them, yet this movie does give you a sense that they should have a sense of justice although they are young, which I though is interesting because I thought that be independent is one of the characteristics people seeks for in the United States though this could be merely a stereotype.

So, it is kind of ironic to see how they commit a crime altogether without knowing what they are doing.

I thought it is interesting that the title implies that there are a lot of problems in the States because this is "An American Crime"; it is singular, which means that this is one of the crimes that happened in the States.

It is not the typical or only one crime.

I really like the implication that there are a lot of crimes that identifies the United States and this is merely one of them.

This movie might depresses you a lot because it isn't a happy story at all, but there are a lot of good elements in this movie.

I was very impressed by the casting.

I believe that the casting makes a lot difference in this movie because they fit the setting quite well.

Also Ellen Page did really good job in this movie.

Every facial expression she makes is very realistic as if she had experienced all the pain.

I really liked the mood that almost forces you to know both sides of the story.

I also liked that this movie gives a sense that there is only one victim, and everyone else is not a victim though they might seem like one.

It does mean something here because this isn't the crime you do not get involved.

This movie makes you think what is right and what is wrong, and when you should make this decision.

I Spit on Your Grave

So, I watched the original one.

Wow! Lol

There are a lot f similarities, but this is quite different, I thought.

The story is, of course, similar, but not quite the same.

The original is more realistic although the flow of the story (why they guys decides to rape her) is not as natural as the re-make one.

It is more realistic because of the way she revenges.

The original one focuses on her hatred toward the guys, which is described very well.

Her facial expression changes after the incident.

Also the original one spends more time on showing how she gets raped, which might make you feel bad because it keeps going for long time.

It is hard to watch, yet it enables you to share her feeling .

The re-make one focuses on how she tortures the rapers instead of sharing her feeling with the audience, so I was convinced by her clear purpose and almost understood why she revenges the way she does.

I liked both original one and re-make one, but I liked original one better since I could see her humanity and its purpose more clearly

WOW!

I did not feel good after watching this movie at all lol

But I think this is a good horror movie though because you are not supposed to feel happy after watching a horror movie, right? lol

So, this movie succeeded the purpose of a horror movie in this sense because this is the kind of story everyone gets scared of.

There is no ghosts or psycho killers, there is a girl who is hurt.

But she is changed, which is not her fault.

Her facial expression changes so much after the affair, which was impressive and scared.

I also like the camera movement.

Hand-held camera is one of the typical camera movement in horror movies, but it does show up only when it's necessary in this movie, I thought.

There are some scenes I did not like just because they aren't violent enough.

I mean, this is very violent and bloody, yet this movie is supposed to be an extreme one, right?

So, I was a little disappointed by the very brief torture scenes.

But i think this is a good horror movie overall.

I do not recommend to watch it with your girlfriend though!

This is a remake one, but I will watch the original and post about it for sure.

I was little disappointed when I saw this movie like cheap horror movies, but wow!

I was very surprised!

I have no idea who the hell came up with this idea lol

This is a really silly messed up story, but still I am very impressed lol

Of course, I don't say this is a good movie, it is just interesting and different.

Anyway, as I said, this is pretty fucked up.

The acting and the mood of the movie are just like horror movies you have seen, I would say.

I think the creepy mood is well created, but there are a lot of movies like that.

Especially, there are a few characters, which somehow made me feel watching cheap horror movie.

Also the setting is quite similar to other horror movies.

Nothing really special in this movie, but the idea.

This movie follows the "rules of horror movie", so it is not too special, which I expects to be better somehow in the second one.

I was impressed by the idea, but I was not impressed by the movie as a whole.

I guess it is a good movie to talk about with you friends because it is so messed up, but I would not watched it again because nothing makes me want to watch it again.

I was thinking this movie will be a comedy with lots of sexuality.

I was wrong and I was right lol

There are a lot of sexuality, but it is not comedy.

You probably get really confused in half way, but everything becomes very clear suddenly.

I really liked this kind of story development.

I enjoyed the confusion, for it can be solved little by little.

The relationships of the characters are quite unique since there is the distance between them, but this distance represents their deep sadness and makes them realistic even though you think it does not happen in real life.

There are lots of beautiful scenery including female naked body lol

Nude creates erotic mood at the same time it represents their passion, I think.

Figures of women are very weird since they are really passionate with wild sex for some reason.

I believe the title represents this idea lol

This movie basically has only on character.

You hear people's voices, but you don't see them.

You only see a guy who somehow ended up with being buried alive and struggling to get out from the coffin.

The setting is quite interesting.

I don't think you get frustrated by watching him in the coffin because he probably does whatever you think he should do eventually.

This movie got me really interested.

Because I expected that there were so many hints that are relevant to the truth.

You can actually guess millions of things from the conversations he has on the cell phone he finds.

I didn't like the ending much because I feel some questions are not solved

But you will enjoy this movie if you don't care small details.

In fact, I really enjoyed.

The tension is created very well.

You actually share the same experience with the character, Paul, because what you see is what he sees; you don't see anything else, which I thought is really interesting way to make a movie.

The structure fits the story quite well.

Also the acting is very good.

You might get annoyed just because he is the only character you see, and he is panicked, but I think his acting creates the tension and represents the mentality of being buried lol

The Kids Are Alright

As usual, I did not know what this movie is about lol

I expected that it would be a normal family drama like a ordinary family gets into some troubles, they solve the problems somehow, and they reconfirm they love each other.

My expectation was betrayed in the very beginning because they are not normal family.

The parents are lesbians.

So, they don't have a father, which interested me for a while.

The setting was very interesting just because it was new for me.

But that was it, to be honest.

If you have watched enough movies, you can predict the ending.

It isn't too complicated.

Probably that is what the movie trying to tell us; they are not different, they only have a different form of family.

I think the acting was very good, so you still enjoy this movie unless you expect something very different lol

Besides, it asks you some philosophical questions such as what does father or mother mean?

If you have a biological connection, does that mean you are family?

Since they are lesbians, it is quite hard to define.

Not sure whether this movie answers this question, yet I believe that there is something more important than biological connection.

Probably you have heard about this movie because this is very famous in a sense.

What made this movie famous is the representation of sexuality in it.

It is very direct.

You actually see people having sex.

Yes, it is part of acting.

There are a lot of sexuality including homosexuality.

But what they have in common is that all of them face their sexuality very seriously.

It might not be important for you if you cannot understand their positions.

However, you can probably understand why they struggle so much because the emotional expressions are so great in this movie.

And I believe that obvious sexuality has an important role.

I don't mean I understand how it feels like than be a gay or anything, but it is more fundamental as a human being, which makes this movie so interesting.

And I think that is why this movie has such a direct sexual expression so that the undamental humanity can be depicted more vividly.

This movie is great if you don't mind watching strong aspects of homosexuality.

If you do have stereotypes or bias towards homosexuality, this movie might be a good one because you probably understand that they are "same" as you.

Well, I did not know what this movie is about until I watched it as usual.

I expected to laugh because I thought this is comedy movie.

Well, it is partially true.

You can probably laugh still.

However, there are a lot of serious stuff in it.

Both protagonists look total jerks in the beginning.

However, we learn that they have the backgrounds that they struggle to get over with.

Neither of them has a clear idea about their future.

We can see the humanity in their anxiety.

We gradually have sympathy with them.

What I liked about this movie is that they become jerks again if they are not together.

They are complicated, but they try to be simple, which I thought is very interesting.

This might sound unrealistic, but it seems that their relationship is realistic in a certain way.

This is the movie, and movie always has extra drama to make it interesting.

I have to admit that this movie has one too, yet what they need seems very reasonable.

This is love story, but this is not cheesy.

Well, I guess have lots of contradictions this time lol

But this movie is not merely a comedy.

As I said, there are lots of serious stuff you can think about.

Oh, and you get something good to look at too!! lol

I like some Korean movies because they are really fucked up! lol

"I Saw the Devil" is, of course, so fucked up.

This is the story of revenge.

When I heard about this movie, I thought this movie was directed by the director of "Old Boy" because he made movies of revenge.

But I was wrong.

Jee-woon Kim directed this movie.

This movie is different from his movies I have watched.

But it is in good way.

It has more violence and anger, yet there is sadness I have seen his other movies.

It is so messed up, but you probably understand this movie, especially you have loved ones.

In very profound meaning, this is a good movie.

But as I said, this is so fucked up, and a lot of blood.

If you don't like too much blood, you might want to avoid this movie.

However, you should watch if you don't mind seeing people get killed with a lot of blood.

127 Hours

This movie is the one I wanted to watch most last year, yet there was no theatre that played this movie in the city, so I did not have chance to watch.

I was very glad when I figured out that only one theatre plays this finally although it has been long since it was on the theater!

I had heard about this movie, so I knew the plot.

I also knew what would happen to him and how he would solve the problem.

However, I was very impressed how his mentality is portrayed.

Basically, there is only on protagonist, Aaron, so we see him all the time stuck between the rocks.

His anxious and fear are very well visualized by using the camera he films himself, I think.

He talks about himself or his family at the camera that shoots himself, which shows his mental changes.

I also find the sound has a important role to represent the pain he has.

It is not hard to see him because there aren't too much grotesque scenes, yet the sounds create the pain, which made me hard to see what is on the screen.

This movie might keep people away from outdoor activities, yet it is always good to know that it is dangerous to be outdoor alone.

It reminds people how to prepare yourself in case something happens.

This movie is based on the true story, so it is not unreal.

It can happen to anybody.

I strongly recommend this movie if you enjoy going outdoor or think going outdoor this summer.

Well, most of you might have heard about this movie because this movie is quite famous in a sense.

It's about how people who are addicted to drugs fall.

You can easily guess how depressing to watch this kind of movie by the simple summary lol

Yes, it is very depressing, I have to admit.

But it's because this movie is well filmed.

I was very impressed by how they visualize the effects of drugs.

I know that's the most important elements of this sort of movie, yet it is outstanding.

Everything contributes to create how they react to the drugs.

The sound and montage are used effectively.

I believe that these represents psychological process how they fall into drug abuse as well.

I also find the characterization has a significant role in the movie.

Everyone has different endings, which means that drugs influences differently.

They also have different reasons to use drugs.

Although they are aware of their drug abuse each other, they cannot help each other, which I find very humanistic in some sense.

As I said, this is depressing to watch.

You cannot expect happy endings in drug movies, can you?lol

But it's worth watching if you don't mind seeing unhappy ending.

My friend recomended this movie to me, which doesn't happen so often.

I didn't know until my friend told me, but I am very glad that I watched this movie.

This movie is about a guy who suddenly disappeared meet his brother again and tries to make up the time he has lost.

Inisially, I thought this is mystery movie, but it is not!

It betrayed me in a good way.

The relationship of the characters are a bit complicated in a sense, but this film tells everything.

The motional expressions are very impressive though you might find they are dull and old-style.

I really liked the way the feeling of loss is described.

It not only describes deep sadness of the characters, but also questions us what time does to us.

I guarantee that you will not regret, so watch this movie if you have time!

This is a great movie to watch with your family, friends, partner, or even by yourself!

OMG... It has been so long since I posted last time.

I am so sorry about that.

I had watched this movie long time ago, but I could not remember the details of the movie.

This movie is about a young man who is gifted, but has trauma about his past.

He does not talk about himself, so no one knows about him much,which I think is the best part of the movie.

Of course, I do wish to know more about him, but no one should know about his past or trauma because he never talks about it.

The characters know about him as much as we know; the characters and the audience, we, share same opinion about him even though we do see him more than any characters.

The relationships are described quite well, I think.

Also I like the mood of the movie.

I believe you can see the similarities to The Town Ben Affrec directed.

I really liked the mood of The Town and this movie.

It is quite hard to explain, yet I feel humanity from the characters.

Of course, we only see small portion of them; however, I really feel they are somehow "real" and have their own histories as we do.

This is a great movie I totally recommend to all of you who has not seen.

Scott Pilgrim V.S the World

I really enjoy this movie!

Some people might not like this movie much because it has comic style in the movie.

Of course, comic is totally different from movies, so it might sound strange.

However, the story is based on comic, so I think it is natural to have comic element in the movie.
Besides, this is a comedy movie!

Things that you never expect to happen in you life can normally happen in comedy to make you laugh lol

I guess you never think you will face to ex-boyfriends when you start going out with a girl lol

I understand it sounds a bit stupid, but it sounds funny at the same time.

I enjoyed cartoon like fighting scenes and video game style story development.

The images you never see in your real life gives a sense of reading comic.

The balance between reality and comic is quite funny.

Music is visible and is used as weapon sometimes lol

Music represents characters' physical strength, which is kind of clear to see.

I think it would have been nicer if there were more explanations about the relationships of the characters.

Since time that can spend on explaining the relationship is limited, I felt it could be more interesting though I think they did well.
